While being a conservative industry, oil and gas is moving from hydraulic control & command to more efficient controls, via electric actuators and fiber optic communication. As well, existing offshore infrastructure, typically powered via gas turbines, is being converted to be powered by less carbonized energies : power from shore, power from offshore wind farms… This new trend rely heavily on subsea cables and connectors for installation & maintenance.
